RALEIGH, NC – The Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics of North Carolina, the state affiliate of the International Association Of Fire Fighters, has endorsed Cal Cunningham’s campaign for Senate in North Carolina.
The group, which represents full-time professional fire fighters and paramedics, applauded Cal’s commitment to service and determination to build a stronger middle class.
“As a veteran, Cal Cunningham understands what it means to be called to serve. That’s why we are thrilled to offer our support on behalf of fire fighters and paramedics across the state who, like Cal, have answered that call,” said PFFPNC President Scott Mullins. “I know he will be a strong advocate for North Carolina fire fighters and paramedics in Washington, and look forward to working with him to advance our middle class and ensure all our first responders can be safe on the job.”
“Our first responders demonstrate bravery every day, as they put themselves in harm’s way to save lives and keep our communities and families safe — and they deserve a leader who will fight for them,” said Cal Cunningham. “I am honored to receive this endorsement, and promise to always be an advocate for North Carolina’s first responders in the U.S. Senate.”
Cal is committed to ensuring first responders have access to high quality health care, including mental health care access and protections for job-related illnesses like cancer, and supporting federal grants that allow for adequate equipment and staffing.
This endorsement builds on endorsements from other labor organizations and local elected officials and community leaders across North Carolina.
