Communications Workers Of America Local 3611 Endorse Cal Cunningham For His Commitment To Economic Justice

The CWA’s Endorsement Builds On Growing Support From Labor Organizations In North Carolina, Including NC AFL-CIO, NCAE, PFFPNC, Teamsters Local 391, IBEW

RALEIGH, NC – The Communications Workers of America Local 3611 endorsed Cal Cunningham for U.S. Senate, praising Cal’s commitment to economic justice.

The Communications Workers of America represent 700,000 workers in telecommunications and information technology, the airline industry, news media, broadcast and cable television, education, health care and public service, law enforcement, manufacturing and other fields.

“For far too long, North Carolina working families have neither been heard nor represented by our U.S. Senators,” said Legislative Chairman of Communications Workers of America Local 3611 Grant Welch. “Cal Cunningham is going to change all that. He is listening to all, not a select few. With Cal’s leadership, working families will have a voice in the Senate.”

“Our current representatives have tilted the playing field so far away from fair that many North Carolinians are being left behind,” said Cal Cunningham. “I couldn’t be more proud to have CWA’s support as we work together to fight for an economy that works for everyone.”

The CWA endorsement is the latest in a line of endorsements from North Carolina labor organizations including the Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics of North Carolina and North Carolina State AFL-CIO. Cal has also received the endorsements of over 140 North Carolina community and political leaders as well as key organizations like North Carolina Association of Educators, the League of Conservation Voters, and End Citizens United.
