Cal Cunningham Makes Stops In Charlotte, RTP, Chapel Hill & Winston-Salem

RALEIGH, NC – Cal Cunningham joined North Carolinians across the state in commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend, celebrating his life and legacy at community events in Charlotte, Research Triangle Park, Chapel Hill, and Winston-Salem.

Here’s a look at Cal’s stops from the long weekend:

Cal attended the United Way of Central Carolinians’ MLK Call to Service in Charlotte, joining volunteers for a day of service benefiting nonprofits and schools in the area.

Cal kicked off MLK Day by attending the MLK Triangle Interfaith Breakfast in Research Triangle Park.

In Chapel Hill, he attended the NAACP MLK Day Rally, marching with North Carolinians from the Peace and Justice Plaza. 

The march ended at First Baptist Church of Chapel Hill for coffee and conversations with rally goers.

Cal closed out the weekend in Winston-Salem at the 40th Annual MLK Commemoration Celebration.
