Cal Cunningham Holds Roundtable Discussions With Leaders In Cumberland, Hoke, And Robeson Counties

RALEIGH, NC – Cal Cunningham hosted roundtable discussions with North Carolinians last Friday, visiting Cumberland, Hoke, and Robeson Counties.

During the discussions, Cal took questions from attendees and listened to their concerns, ranging from health care and military funding, to fair housing and college affordability.

“This campaign is about listening to North Carolinians — and when I say North Carolinians I mean all North Carolinians — from those in rural communities, where Democrats don’t always go, to those in the small town of Lexington where I grew up, to the students at Fayetteville State,” said Cal Cunningham. “These discussions give me the chance to hear about the issues keeping North Carolinians up at night like the safety of their drinking water or how they’ll afford their monthly prescription drugs.”

Cal began the day in Cumberland County with fellow Democrats and local leaders for a discussion about housing affordability, health care, and Gen X contamination facing their community.

Cal joined Democratic leaders in Hoke County for a conversation about political corruption and the need to send better leadership to Washington.

Cal met with leaders from UFCW Local 1208 for a conversation about his plan to fight for North Carolina’s middle class in the Senate.

Cal visited with students and faculty at Fayetteville State University where student debt and education investment were top priorities.

Cal finished the day in Robeson County speaking with voters about his plan to campaign in every community in North Carolina, especially rural communities where Democrats don’t always go.
