Senator Tillis’ Protect Act has been panned by experts across the ideological spectrum for leaving protections for pre-existing conditions “on the cutting room floor.”
The bill, which Senator Tillis once bragged “literally” lifts lines from the ACA, does not specify what benefits must be provided, does not prohibit insurers from charging women more than men, and would not ban annual or lifetime limits on benefits — all protections enshrined by the ACA.
